Misbah-ul-Haq announces international retirement post West Indies series

Lahore, April 6 (Cricketnmore) Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq on Thursday announced his retirement from international cricket after the end of the Test series in the West Indies.

Pakistan are scheduled to play three Tests against the West Indies, the first of which will start from April 21 in Jamaica, according to International Cricket Council's (ICC) release.

"I am announcing my retirement from international cricket," Misbah told media persons at the Gadaffi Stadium here.

"The upcoming series against West Indies will be my last. I will continue to play cricket at the domestic level. Regarding when I will leave domestic cricket, I will decide it later," he added.

Misbah, who made his Test debut in March 2001, led Pakistan to the No.1 spot in the ICC rankings in Tests for a brief period in 2016.
