July 8 (CRICKETNMORE) - England's allrounder Moeen Ali becomes the seventh player from his country and second-quickest (behind Tony Greig) to reach the elite benchmark of scoring 2000 Test runs and taken 100 test wickets. He did this in the first test against South Africa at Lords.

The Other 6 Englishmen to do so are Stuart Broad, Wilfred Rhodes, Trevor Bailey, Tony Greig, Ian Botham and Andrew Flintoff. While Tony Creig took 37 matches to comlete the double, Ali took just one more match more than him to reached the landmark.

Interestingly, Ali completed the double in the same match and became the second player after Indian all-rounder Ravi Shastri to do so.
