This is the highest successful run chase without losing any wicket in ODIs. The previous highest was by New Zealand against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2015. England's previous highest successful chase without losing any wicket was 191 against Bangladesh at The Oval in 2005. 


This is the highest partnership (256*) for England for any wicket in ODIs. The previous best was 250 by Andrew Strauss and Jonathan Trott for the second-wicket against Bangladesh at this same venue in 2010

This is the 3rd ten-wickets victory for England against Sri Lanka and sixth overall.


This is the second time that both openers scored a century for England.


Alex Hales unbeaten 133 is the highest score by a England batsman against Sri Lanka in ODIs. Earlier the record was by David Gower in Taunton in the 1983 World Cup. 


Seekkuge Prasanna (Sri Lanka) conceded 27 runs in an over. Only two Sri Lankan bowlers have conceded more than 27 runs in an over - 32 by Malinga Bandara and 28 by Sanath Jayasuriya.
